Event Details

Think you’ve got the speed, balance and swagger to take home the glory?

Grab three mates, choose your side, and saddle up. Each team member races 25m with a hobby horse and a cup in hand, then passes the cup to the next runner. Fastest team wins the race, while the best dressed crew claims separate bragging rights. Spills, wobbles and questionable athletic form are all part of the show.

Here’s how it works:

  • Teams of 4 compete in a 100m relay
  • Each “athlete” completes a 25m leg
  • Every runner must carry their cup the entire way
  • No covering the top of the cup with your hand, hat, beard, mullet or any other creative solution
  • Spill your drink and you are out, unless every team spills
  • If every team spills, the winner will be determined by the least amount of spillage
  • First team across the line wins, subject to the spill rules
  • Judges’ decisions are final

Important: No drinking during the race. This is a speed-and-skill relay, not a drinking competition.
